Gentle care and nurturing development for babies ages 6-18 months
Our Infant Program at Rainbow Pre School provides a nurturing, responsive environment where your baby can feel secure and loved while developing critical early skills. We understand that the first 18 months of life represent an incredible period of growth and development, and our program is thoughtfully designed to support each infant's unique journey.
Our highly-trained caregivers maintain consistent routines while responding to each baby's individual needs and natural rhythms. We maintain an extremely low teacher-to-child ratio to ensure each infant receives attentive, personalized care throughout the day in a safe, clean, and stimulating environment.
Our approach centers on responsive caregiving, where we observe, understand, and promptly respond to each baby's cues and needs. We create strong bonds with each infant, ensuring they feel secure and build a foundation of trust that supports healthy emotional development and encourages exploration and learning.
Infants learn through their senses. Our infant room is rich with age-appropriate sensory experiences that stimulate development. From soft textures and gentle sounds to visual contrasts and guided movement activities, we provide varied stimuli that engage babies' developing senses and encourage neural connections.
Even before babies can speak, they're building critical language skills. Our caregivers engage in continuous conversation, describing activities, singing songs, and reading books throughout the day. We respond enthusiastically to babbling, maintain eye contact, and model language to build strong pre-verbal and early verbal skills.
Our environment supports both fine and gross motor development with appropriate challenges for each developmental stage. From tummy time for younger infants to crawling spaces and pull-up supports for older babies, we ensure each child has opportunities to strengthen muscles and practice emerging physical skills in a safe, supervised setting.
We support cognitive development through age-appropriate activities that help babies understand cause and effect, object permanence, and other foundational concepts. Simple games like peek-a-boo, exploring how objects work, and guided play experiences help build problem-solving skills and early cognitive functions.
